Who i am

Hi, I’m Thomas.

I’m a professional hiking and climbing guide based in Rio de Janeiro. Originally from Argentina, I’ve been living in Rio since 2014, exploring its mountains, forests, beaches, and climbing routes almost every day.

Since moving to Rio, I have dedicated my career to guiding hiking and climbing experiences in Rio de Janeiro and Ilha Grande, helping visitors discover a side of Brazil that many tourists never get to see.

I am a certified Brazilian National Tour Guide and have completed Wilderness Advanced First Aid (WAFA) training, along with additional climbing and rescue courses. These qualifications, combined with years of hands-on experience in Rio’s mountains and forests, allow me to provide adventures that are not only memorable but also professionally managed and safety-focused.

Whether we’re hiking through Tijuca National Park, climbing Sugarloaf Mountain, or exploring hidden corners of Rio, my goal is always the same: to share authentic experiences, local knowledge, and a deeper connection with nature.

My goals

EcotuRio was created with a simple idea: nature experiences should leave people with more than photos.

Every mountain, trail, forest, and climbing route has a story behind it. During our tours, we don’t just guide people from one point to another—we share the history, ecology, wildlife, and culture that make these places special.

We believe that people protect what they understand. By helping visitors connect with nature, we hope to inspire greater appreciation for the incredible environments that make Rio unique.

We also support local environmental initiatives because preserving these natural areas is essential for future generations of explorers and travelers.
